A very warm welcome to the 2016 Sawtry Village Carnival
Looking back briefly to last year the 2015 Sawtry Carnival was a resounding success, not just for the committee members who ploughed endless hours into ensuring the day went ahead but to all of you, who despite the continued rain during the day turned out to support the Carnival, a credit to the community spirit.
The 2016 Sawtry Carnival day is set for Saturday 11th June. Although the Committee are at the early stages of pulling together this years event we can confirm that the Theme for this years Sawtry Carnival is Superheroes.
The children from The Sawtry Junior School were given the task at the end of 2015 of choosing from a list of themes and they all agreed on this great choice, so thinking caps on stall holders and parade participants.
The Sawtry Carnival is a not for profit organisation but it has always been the committees wish to support the local community and 2015 allowed us to give something back by pledging £300 to the Sawtry Youth Project. Something we look forward to doing in 2016 with another local charity/project scheme.
Keep an eye out on our Facebook page and future editorials here for news of when The Sawtry Carnival Court Selection and Crowning night will take place for the Rose Bud, Princesses and Carnival Queen.
Also keep a watch out for the Grand Prize Draw tickets that will once again be rolled out into the local shops.
