Maurice Griffiths
28th April 1929 - 16th October 2007
On behalf of myself Cheryl,
Jessica, and family, I would like to thank all our Friends and
Family, and all who sent the many cards and condolences. I would
like to thank the Doctors and staff at Sawtry Surgery, to Carol
Black, for her kindness and gentleness towards Maurice, also to
the District nurses Corrine and Louise. To all our many friends,
who attended the funeral of my dear husband Maurice, it was
heart warming to see so many of his friends at the funeral, on
26th October.
Thank you to Mr John Garner, for
your reflections on Maurice’s life. Thank you to Jessica,
Cheryl, and Harry for the readings and poems. A big thank you to
Rector Malcolm and Sandra, for officiating at the funeral. To Mr
Gary Crack who said the prayers. I would like to say thank you
to Anglia Co-operative Funerals to Helen Whitwell and Julie
Perry, who were so kind and they handled the funeral in such a
dignified manner.
Maurice battled with cancer since
knowing about it in January of this year. It has been a hard
road, going to Papworth for a scan, then Addenbrooke’s Hospital
for chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. He lost his fight on 16th
October 2007, when he quietly and peacefully passed away, at his
home at Lodge farm, Gidding Road at 6.45am where he was born on
28th April 1929.
He was able to enjoy a party in
honour of our Ruby wedding anniversary. Also my 70th birthday
brought forward, which was held at Lodge Farm, I feel that it
was the right thing to do, and we are so pleased that we were
able to hold it. Thank you to all our lovely Friends for coming,
making it a wonderful event, so that he was able to enjoy the
evening for this I would like to thank Cheryl, and her friend
Cindy Humphries for all their hard work in organising it all so
beautifully.
Thank you and God bless you all

WORLDS BIGGEST
COFFEE MORNING
A Very Big thank
you to all who helped with the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
appeal this year. The Methodist Church kindly gave the use of
their Hall to enable us to hold the event and for this we are
most appreciative. A special thank you to the residents of
Mellors Court who held a coffee morning for this good cause and
gave a wonderful donation. Thank you also to members of the
Women’s Institute who gave of their time to help on the day and
make cakes etc. Many, many kind people made cakes, or gave
donations, of money, raffle prizes and items for the Bring and
Buy stall.
To all who helped
in any way I am most grateful. And last but not least a very big
Thank You to all who came to the coffee morning and supported
this effort. This is such a worthwhile cause and as you will all
know Macmillan are such a wonderful help to thousands of people,
and without your help this work could not continue. You all
helped to raise a Grand Total of £200 for this good cause.
Thank You.
