Urgent – Your Community Needs You!
I write to introduce the new
Cambridgeshire LINk (Local Involvement Network) which was established on
25 September 2008 as part of a new Government initiative to help
communities have a stronger voice in their Health and Social Care
services. The LINk will:
• Ask local people what they think about local care services and provide
a chance to suggest ideas to help improve services
• Investigate specific issues of concern to the communities
• Use its powers to hold services to account and get results
• Ask for information and get an answer within a specified amount of
time
• Carry our spot checks to see if services are working well
• Make reports and recommendations and receive a response
• Refer on to a higher authority issues where service providers seem
reluctant to accept findings and take action
There are a number of ways in which you and the community can support
and become involved with the LINk. As part of the local community your
involvement would be greatly appreciated. We want to build relationships
and need your assistance in finding out what the local community want.
What I would like you to do to support Cambridgeshire LINk is to add us
as to your communities’ website so that all visitors will find out about
Cambridgeshire LINk, the work we do and how you can become involved. You

issues which affects us all and your help and support would be much
