Aversley Wood

Aversley Wood is particularly attractive. It has wide rides leading north/south and east/west. Between the, a variety of footpaths meander through the undergrowth. Throughout the year, the wood has natural beauty to capture the eye. It is well tended but can be a bit muddy unless the weather has been dry for some months.

The photographs below were taken on 28th December 2000 following a substantial fall (for us - about 4 inches) of snow. Though the sun was well up (as it was nearly midday), the wood was very quiet, no bird song, no one else! Just a few footprints in the snow where walkers had enjoyed the wood earlier in the day.
