The village car scheme is intended for those who need transport

but are unable to use conventional public transport.

The scheme needs drivers as well as customers!!!

 

If you would like to volunteer as a driver, you would use the

scheme's car (a Renault Megane) and be paid reasonable mileage

expenses as well as receiving additional insurance cover for free.

The scheme provides door to door transport and are arranged by ringing the number above. You can get to the doctors, dentists, opticians, chiropodists, shopping, personal business or to visit friends and relatives at home or in hospital.

The cost is 30 pence per mile paid to the driver on the day. Cambridgeshire County Council also makes a financial contribution.

To arrange a journey, phone the number above giving as much notice as possible. All drivers are volunteers so it may take time to find a driver available to undertake the journey.
